RF13 battery packs and dedicated chargers

RF13 transceivers in portable versions are powered from NiCd battery packs with integrated electronic control circuits, or from smart LiIon batteries that include protection and diagnostic circuits.

Both battery packs use the same chargers. Stationary, mobile and personal versions are available. Trickle chargers are available for NiCd battery packs, eliminating self-discharging of cells during long-term storage.

In addition to basic functions (modulation, monitoring and keying), the accessories can be used to control the transceiver without having access to the panel. Thus, you can select preset channels, send tone signalling or switch the transceiver to the scanning mode.

Antennas for portable and mobile sets

Antennas for portable and mobile sets

Portable sets include tape or whip antennas with a length of up to 2 meters. These antennas can be used as stationary or when moving . Hang-up antenna with a larger emitter is intended for stationary use. It can be placed on elevated platforms (trees, buildings) and therefore has a greater range than whip or tape antenna.

The design of mobile antennas must withstand power of up to 50 W and enable mounting on tracked and wheeled vehicles.

GROUNDPLANE or DISCON antennas and corresponding telescopic masts are suitable for stationary sites.

Fillgun is used to quickly and easily configure the transceivers. Operating data is prepared in a software application and uploaded to the fillgun. The fillgun is connected the audio connector of the transceiver, which is then programmed using a simple procedure.

If operation of multiple transceivers or sets in a single vehicle is required, and the antennas are placed very close to each other (but always at least 1.5 meters), the set needs to include a co-site filter. The device requires no attendance, its tuning is automatic and it is controlled directly from the transceiver. If it is necessary to control the transceiver from two locations (typically driver's cabin and the switchboard), the set includes a voice unit and a driver's box.

The main supporting element of any mobile set is its frame. Where there are milder conditions in terms of mechanical stress (wheeled vehicles without weapons) you can use fixed frame. For more demanding conditions (wheeled and tracked vehicles with weapons) you should use shock mounts, which absorb some of the vibration and shock energy.
